Panama 2026: Gathering of the Global Black Solidarity Economy

Join Collective Diaspora for an immersive eight-day delegation to Panama, where Black cooperatives, cooperative leaders, movement builders, and solidarity economy practitioners from around the world will come together to strengthen relationships and build a more connected Global Black Solidarity Economy.

This experience combines cultural exchange, cooperative learning, and participation in the 2026 ICA World Cooperative Conference, creating opportunities to connect with Black cooperatives across the diaspora while exploring Panama's rich Afro-descendant history, culture, and cooperative movement.

During the delegation, participants will:

• Participate in the 2026 ICA World Cooperative Conference.

• Connect with Black cooperatives, cooperative developers, and solidarity economy leaders 

• Join conversations with Panamanian cooperative leaders, community organizations, and credit unions.

• Visit Afro-Panamanian communities in Panama City, Colón, and Portobelo.

• Experience Congo traditions, community spaces, museums, and cultural landmarks.

• Explore Afro-Panamanian history, culture, and biodiversity through guided visits and local experiences.

• Build relationships through networking sessions, shared meals, cultural activities, and collaborative learning opportunities.
